Thank you Brook Food Processing Equipment!!!

Throughout Brook Food Processing Equipment’s Silver Anniversary year, the company have been choosing different charities on a monthly basis to make a donation to , £25 for every customer order valued at £1000 or more. July saw the Williton based company’s donations so far soar to over £11k.

Raising £1475 throughout July, Ann Wells was delighted to present a cheque to The Steam Coast Trail on behalf of Brook Food Processing Equipment, The Steam Coast Trail is an ongoing project to build a breath taking network of multi-user paths around West Somerset. It weaves walkers, cyclists, runners and wheelchairs through glorious contryside! The benefits of the Steam Coast Trail to the local community include road safety, sustainable transport, health benefits, accessibility, and economic benefits from attracted tourism. Brook Food have recently signed up a large number of their team on the Cycle to work scheme and as such the team are making full use of the pathways on their journeys to work. The steam trains run from Minehead to Bishops Lydeard so many of the team join the steam trail route from Minehead and even as far as Allerford, and enjoy the scenery and healthier commute to Williton.

Presenting the cheque to Sarah Ellwood and Harry Singer from the Steam Coast Trail on Thursday 8th August, coinciding with National Cycle to Work Day! Ann said “The Steam coast trail is enjoyed by many of us at Brook, not only is it used by many for the commute to work but also at the weekends with our families, the initiative to improve the facilities along the coastline in our area is admirable and appreciated by many. If with this donation we can help the cause and the organisers increase or improve the trail in some way then we would be delighted ”

Upon receiving the cheque Sarah told us 'This kind donation from Brook Food Processing Equipment will help us to complete our ultimate aim of linking Minehead to Williton with accessible paths for cyclists, walkers, runners and people with limited mobility. I've been working well with the Blue Anchor Chalet Owners Association to find a way to provide the community with an accessible path that will link the existing Steam Coast Trail path from Dunster Beach all the way to Blue Anchor whilst respecting the privacy of the chalets too. Things are going really well so Brook Food Processing Equipment has helped us to get a little bit closer to this exciting development!'

With Harry adding 'Our thanks goes out to the wonderful fundraising efforts of Brook Foods. Along with many progressive businesses in the area, it's great they're really supporting and valuing the benefits of the Steam Coast Trail. It's fantastic to hear that some of their staff are now commuting to work on a regular basis!'
